Angelina Ramos

Angelina Ramos is the women’s cross country and distance and middle distance track coach at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She cofounded and executes the USTFCCCA female coaching mentorship program and designs and organizes professional development workshops for female coaches. Additionally, she is a co-coach for the Las Vegas Gold mile-marathon post- collegiate training group based in Nevada, USA Track & Field Nevada’s distance chair, and cross country meet director for the USATF Nevada 2021 race series. Angelina also serves as an advisory board member to On Running’s OAC Boulder group. Prior to coaching at UNLV, she held distance/ middle distance coaching positions at Saginaw Valley State University (Michigan), Metro State University of Denver (Colorado), and Niwot High School (Niwot, Colorado). An experienced sports journalist who holds a master’s degree in communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder, is committed to the development of human potential through individualization, empathy, optimism, and command.

As a female, minority endurance coach who seeks to drive self-efficacy, self-trust, and self-esteem through sport and speech, I find this project is especially meaningful because of the intention behind it and the authenticity it will bring to countless coaches of color.
