Matt Fitzgerald

Matt is the cofounder of 80/20 Endurance, the world’s largest dedicated provider of online training plans for endurance athletes. An endurance coach since 2001, he has authored numerous books on endurance sports training, psychology, and nutrition, including 80/20 Running, The Endurance Diet, and How Bad Do You Want It? His 2018 memoir, Life Is a Marathon, explores issues of race and mental health, both of which have touched his life deeply and become causes he is dedicated to addressing in a positive way. Previously, Matt worked as a writer and editor for Triathlete, active.com, and competitor.com. His writing has appeared also in Bicycling, Runner’s World, and other magazines. A certified sports nutritionist, he created the Diet Quality Score (DQS) smartphone app. Matt speaks frequently at events across the United States and beyond.
